PSCA Gallery Updates
Open Call for Artists
The Gallery is charging $1 per piece for hanging and wall patches and will take 20% of commission from work sold during the show. The shows will correspond with productions by the Thingamajig Theatre Company, in hopes of bringing lots of theater going foot traffic into the art gallery. Each artist must insure their own pieces. The Center for the Arts will not be responsible for damaged or stolen pieces. The gallery will be staffed during all business hours and there is a door alarm as well as a video surveillance. Summer business hours are from 11-7 Wednesday –Saturday and Sunday from 10-2. All types of art are welcome, we will hang and display pieces according to medium. Small items such as jewelry are taken only on a selective basis. All artists must bring business card sized tags for their artwork as well as a small 5”x7” Artist Bio.Email laura@pagosacenter.org or call (970)-507-0408 for more information. Pagosa Springs Art Gallery Summer Season:
Feels like Uptown
April 12-27
Feels Like Uptown corresponds with the play “Fully Committed” which takes place in an upscale Manhattan restaurant and runs April 15th-April 24th. The theme of this art show centers around contemporary or abstract themes. Please no Southwest style art. We are trying to create an upscale Manhattan feel. All art must be submitted on April 10th from 2-6pm or April 11th from 4-7pm. All art must be picked up on April 25th from 4-7pm or April 26th from 2-5pm. No artist under the age of 17 for this show please. For younger artists please look for our call to young artist for a show the taking place the first week in May.
Children's Show
May 2-9
The Children’s Show corresponds with the Whatchamawhozit’s Kids Playshop production of “Dream Magic”. There is a $1 per item hanging fee, but no commission will be taken. If the artist does not wish to sell their art, they may put “NOT FOR SALE” on their art tag. All art from ages 14 and under will be accepted. All art must be submitted on May 1st from 2-6 and all art must be removed on May 8th from 5-8. Check back for the “Children’s Show” gallery showing special evening.
Rustic
May 11-May 31
This show corresponds with the stage play “Brilliant Traces” which takes place in a cabin in the wilds of Alaska. Art that is rustic or nature orientated is welcomed. Art must be submitted on May 9th from 3-7 or May 10th from 2-6. It must be removed. May 30 from 2-6 or May 31st from 3-7.
Dog's Life
June 13- July 18
This show corresponds with the stage play “Sylvia” a hilarious and heartwarming story of a man, his wife and the dog he loves. All art having to do with Dog’s Life is accepted. Hand crafted dog items are highly encouraged, including smaller items, such as painted or pottery dog dishes, knitted or sewn dog sweaters, hand crafted leashes, tags, etc. These small items will not be charged a $1 display fee. Art will be accepted on June 12th from 2-6 and June 13th from 4-7. It must be removed July 17 from 5-8 or July 18 from 4-7.
Whimsical
July 27-August 28
This show corresponds with the musical “A Year with Frog and Toad.” The theme of the show is Whimsy. Self-explanatory. Young artists may bring their art if it fits the theme. There is a limited space for young artist, it will be allowed on first come first serve, no young artist should bring more than two pieces. Art for this show will be accepted on July 24th from 2-6 and July 25 from 4-7. It must be removed August 28th from 4-8.
