Registration is now open for the Winter Camp where the professionals at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts will be teaching kids “all things theatre” as they focus on putting on a production of Elf Jr.
This fun theatre experience for kids is the same program that brought you Frozen KIDS, Lion King KIDS, James and the Giant Peach Jr, Finding Nemo KIDs and many more. It’s perfect for kids who love to sing and dance or make up funny characters while they play.
The camp teaches empathy, public speaking and builds the foundation for being a great team player all while having exposure to working professional actors as their camp counselors.
The Whatchamawhozit Children’s Winter Camp will run December 20 from 2-4pm and continue on December 21 – January 2 from 9am-1pm (no class on Christmas Eve, Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years) with shows on January 3 and 4.
The camp is open to kids 7-14 years old and is taught by the professional actors in the Thingamajig Theatre Company’s Winter Season. Space is extremely limited. This camp is kept small and will have one cast.
The audition session will be held on December 14 from 11am-1pm for the kids to earn their assigned parts in the production. If kids cannot attend audition day, they can submit an audition video with the audition song. Audition songs will be emailed out to parents one week before audition day. The camp casting process is not competitive, but rather a thoughtful process based on educational lessons and the group dynamic.
