The 2025 Whatchamawhozit Summer Theatre Camp for kids is back for another exciting season at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.
This two-week day camp, running from June 30 to July 11, with performances on July 12 & 13, focuses on producing Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach.”
Youth aged 7 to 14 (with special requests considered for 6-year-olds) are invited to join this unique opportunity.
The camp is in its 14th year and promises an immersive experience in all things theater, from singing and dancing to costume design and aerial silks. Taught by professional performers from Thingamajig Theatre Company’s main stage shows, the camp offers a comprehensive arts education in a fun and supportive environment.
With more than 30 professional artists, designers and performers rehearsing and performing in three major musicals — “Something Rotten!” “The Wild Party” and “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”— the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts is a vibrant place this summer and training the next generation of artists is at the core of the theater’s mission.
The professional acting company will guide the campers, making this a truly special experience specially crafted to highlight teamwork, confidence, empathy public speaking and adaptability — essential skills for young people to harness and hone in any situation.
The camp runs weekdays from 9am to 2pm, with public performances on July 12 and July 13 at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
Auditions to help the counselors arrange the campers into casts and specific roles are held on June 28 from 12-4, with video submissions welcome if your child cannot attend in person. Space is limited and spots are filling fast, so register soon.
