Based on the beloved holiday film, Elf Jr. tells the story of Buddy, a human raised at the North Pole who travels to New York City in search of his true identity and discovers that spreading kindness, laughter, and a little holiday spirit can change lives. Packed with catchy songs, playful humor, and plenty of cheer, the show is a festive treat for audiences of all ages.

A cast of local children have spent weeks rehearsing under the direction of working professional actors, with leadership from camp director Laura Moore. The experience offers young performers hands-on training in storytelling, collaboration, and stagecraft – mirroring the rehearsal process of a professional theatre production.

“Our youth theatre program is about more than putting on a show,” said Laura Moore. “It’s about teaching kids how to work as a team, take creative risks, and tell stories with heart. Elf Jr. is a perfect vehicle for that, it’s joyful, silly, and full of warmth, and the kids have poured themselves into it.”

Elf Jr. continues Thingamajig Theatre’s commitment to youth education through Whatchamawhozit’s Kids Program, which connects local students with professional artists to create meaningful, confidence-building performance opportunities.
