Thingamajig Theatre Company at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts has announced a three-show Fall/Winter lineup that moves from the fire of the opera world to Dickensian redemption and, finally, a razor-sharp contemporary comedy about friendship and taste. Alongside the professional season, the company will also present two youth productions showcasing the talents of local teens and children.
“We love seasons that feel like a conversation,” said Producing Artistic Director Tim Moore. “Master Class asks what excellence costs, A Christmas Carol reminds us what generosity restores, and Art pokes — hilariously — at what we value, and why.”
First up is Master Class> by Terrence McNally, a fictionalized evening with the legendary soprano Maria Callas as she coaches — and confronts — young singers while revisiting triumphs and heartbreaks from her own life. Expect wit, bite, and gorgeous operatic excerpts. Thingamajig Theatre’s production stars locals Laura Moore and Scott Moorehead, returners Sam Luck, Trevor Brown and Ellie O’Hara and pianist Dale Scrivner. It plays twice a weekend scattered throughout September, October and November.
Theatre at its most intimate: one world-famous artist, one classroom, one unforgettable evening.
September 26–27; October 10–11, 17–18; November 8–9, 15–16.
December brings A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, adapted by Patrick Barlow — the Olivier-nominated playwright behind ‘The 39 Steps’. In Barlow’s high-imagination staging, five actors transform simple props and bold physicality into Scrooge’s entire world, from the counting-house to Christmas morning. It’s family-friendly, brisk, and heartfelt — perfect holiday fare. December 12–14, 18–24, 26–27. (No performance December 25.)
The season concludes with Art by Yasmina Reza (translated by Christopher Hampton), the award-winning comedy in which three lifelong friends collide over a startling purchase: an expensive, nearly all-white painting. As the debate spirals, the play becomes a laugh-out-loud exploration of ego, loyalty, and what counts as “art.” January 23–24; February 13–15; March 13–14 & 18, 2026.
Alongside these professional titles, Thingamajig’s ThingamaWHO teen program will present Beetlejuice JR this fall, a lively adaptation of the Broadway hit featuring local teens ages 13–18.

Mischievous energy hits the stage for this performer the title role in Beetlejuice JR alongside the ensemble cast at Emerald Coast Theatre Company.
And just in time for the holidays, the Whatchamawhozit kids program takes the stage with Elf JR, spreading cheer with a pint-sized Buddy the Elf and a heartwarming seasonal story.
“Thingamajig’s hallmark is intimate, actor-driven storytelling,” added Executive Director Laura Moore. “All three winter season titles shine in close quarters, and with our teen and kids programs, audiences also see the joy and confidence that comes when young people get to perform on a professional stage.”
